Leh, Ladakh

About This Project

The above images were shot on a road trip on a caravan photo tour from Srinagar, Kashmir to Leh. This route is filled with adventure and is a treat for the eyes. The landscape can change in minutes in front of you like a slide show. Ladakh (“land of high passes”) is a region in Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir that currently extends from the Kunlun mountain range to the main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent. It is one of the most sparsely populated regions in Jammu and Kashmir and its culture and history are closely related to that of Tibet. The people here are very friendly and hospitable and we had the good fortune of staying with some locals to experience their unique culture. Along the way you will come across many Gompas ( Buddhist Monasteries ) and you stop by for a spiritual experience.
